Climbing is an essential aspect of many cycling races, and understanding the demands of each ascent can give you the competitive edge you need. That's why we're excited to introduce our Climb Detection feature. Below, we'll explore how this user-friendly tool can help you prepare for race day like never before.
The Climb Detection feature is designed to identify and categorize significant climbs along your route. Any climb that spans over 250 meters and has an average grade of more than 3% will be identified as a categorized climb. Using a points-based system, climbs are classified as Category 4, 3, 2, 1, or HC (Hors Categorie) to provide a clearer picture of their difficulty.
To help you visualize each climb, we've updated our charts to highlight each climb when selected from the Category Climbs drop-down menu. Simply click on a climb to view its details, such as length, average grade, and elevation gain, as well as its precise location on the chart. This in-depth information allows you to plan your pacing strategies and customize your training to conquer even the most challenging ascents.
