Stage 2 is one for the sprinters. The day starts in Dusseldorf and spends much of the 203 km of racing in Germany before crossing into Belgium to finish in Liege. The course has two category 4 climbs and one intermediate sprint. There are not too many places to escape and make big time gaps, and the run into Liege should be predoninatly head wind. If there is a break the peloton should be able to easily reel them in well before the finish. The final sprint is long and strait with about 2 km of runway for the readout trains to form. It will be a great chance to see where Cavendish is form-wise compared to his rivals.
