Stage 3 / Monday, July 9th
The Team Time Trial is back at the Tour and it sets the stage for a showdown of the powerhouse teams of the tour looking to put their GC rider on the podium. For other teams it will be about trying to limit lost time for their GC favorites. The TTT is a tactical race that mixes pure power and strategy. We will have an in depth analysis prior to the stage, but when modeling and looking at order, the goal is to put a team in a place where you maximize your strong power riders pulls at the right place on the course for the optimal duration. The course starts with a steeper 5% climb before settling into more rolling terrain suited to the TT specialists. For strong riders pulling roughly 30 second rotations expect power numbers well above 500 watts while recovering riders will be around 300 watts.
